During the spring of 2023, an advisory board was appointed to help prepare the national application of Czech beer culture to the list of intangible assets of traditional folk culture of the Czech Republic. The advisory team was primarily made up of experts in beer culture from a historical, ethnological and sociological perspective. The advisory board was led by PhDr. Karel Altman, CSc. (Institute of Ethnology of the CAS), PhDr. Jiří Vinopal, PhD (Institute of Sociology of the CAS), Mgr. Libor Zajíc (Masaryk University in Brno) and PhDr. Filip Vrána (Masaryk University in Brno).
The advisory board’s main purpose of the nomination is to provide an expert perspective on the issue of Czech beer culture, to define the features of uniqueness and to provide an expert description of the development of beer culture in Bohemia and Moravia.
