The journey of Czech beer culture to the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic

This year, the honorary award, presented in honor of the founder of modern brewing, F. O. Poupě, was given to the advisory board of the Czech Beer and Malt Association – a group of experts who contributed to the inclusion of Czech beer culture on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic. The plaque of the brewing giant František Ondřej Poupě is traditionally awarded for exceptional contributions to the field.

The Czech Beer and Malt Association has also launched a new YouTube channel, which brings authentic stories of the people behind the uniqueness of Czech beer – from brewers to technology experts to bartenders. The channel is part of a broader initiative to promote Czech beer culture.

Among other things, you can watch a documentary on the channel dedicated to the preparation of the nomination application for Czech beer culture, which is the first step towards possible inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The video highlights not only the historical and social significance of beer in Czech culture, but also the efforts of the experts behind the nomination.
